ADMIN: Free Sale Posting Guidelines
***NOTE!! You MUST post a TAKEN when your Free Sale is over!
Since it is garage sale season we will be posting this every Saturday morning. Please remember to remove your Free Sale posting when your Free Sale is over, as well as posting a Taken for it.
Example of a Free Sale subject lines:
Offer: Free Sale 5/3 12-3 (63122)
Taken: Free Sale 5/3 12-3 (63122)
It is getting to be that time of year again, so I want to go over the St Louis Freecycle groups guidelines with everyone on how to post these. Many of us have Garage Sales and have in the past just thrown the unsold items away in the next trash pickup, or put them back in the basement for that 'next sale' that we never get time to have. Or maybe you have just cleaned out the basement and would like to Freecycle it all within an hour or two. Now remember, we aren't talking about 3 or 4 items, we are talking about many items.
The posting of Garage Sales are NOT allowed on St Louis Freecycle, but Free Sales ARE. Items on Freecycle must come with 'no strings' attached. Please note: A 'Free Table' at your Garage Sale does not qualify it as a Free Sale. Everything must be Free, so if there is anything you do not want to give away, you must remove it prior to posting.
The Subject Line of your post must contain the following: OFFER: Free Sale (zip code). In the body, list the start and end time of your Free Sale. You must post this AFTER your Garage sale has ended, or no earlier than one hour prior to your Free Sale starting.
Please do not forget to list an ending time (or you will have people showing up days, weeks, months later). You can list some of the items you will have at your Free Sale. Again, don't forget to include your address at the bottom (NO phone numbers), along with the zip code, so members can MapQuest it. You can include cross streets or directions if you want. Please delete your post when your Free Sale is over. Members, please remember that items at Free Sales go quickly, so if it isn't close by, it probably isn't worth expending the gas to get there.
Remember, this is for Free Sales ONLY. Garage Sales are NOT permitted on Freecycle and any mention of one will have your post removed, or deleted without approval. If multiple members report or complain to the Owner/Moderators that you had items for sale at your Free Sale you will be removed from the group.
